John Nixon’s final, life­time exhi­bi­tion, Groups + Pairs 2016 – 2020, at Anna Schwartz Gallery was con­ceived by the artist as a way of col­lect­ing numer­ous recur­ring approach­es in his prac­tice into a sin­gu­lar pre­sen­ta­tion: ​“Col­lec­tive­ly some of the groups are com­plex, some are rig­or­ous­ly geo­met­ric, and some are sim­ple. But the log­ic of com­bin­ing all the groups is to pro­vide a big­ger per­spec­tive on my practice.”

Pub­lished on the occa­sion of the exhi­bi­tion this cat­a­logue com­pre­hen­sive­ly doc­u­ments Groups + Pairs 2016 – 2020 and includes an essay by Car­olyn Barnes, a long­stand­ing inter­locu­tor of the artist.
