This mono­graph pro­vides a won­der­ful study of bril­liant con­cep­tu­al artist Peter Tyn­dall. It pro­vides a com­pre­hen­sive sur­vey of Tyndall’s work from 1952 – 1987. Start­ing with his par­o­dy work, Tyn­dall looks at the act of laugh­er and impor­tance of jokes, as described by Pamela Hans­ford: ​“The truth is that a good joke, one suf­fi­cient­ly com­plex to sus­tain itself against the inevitable wear and tear of rep­e­ti­tion, will still be fun­ny at the end of the day”.
