Taking its name from a sculpture in the collection by Jan Nelson, the exhibition brings historical and contemporary works into dialogue with one another, exploring connections between artists across time in unexpected ways. Listening to Music Played Backwards: Recent Acquisitions forms part of Heide’s 40th anniversary celebrations and coincides with the reissue of The Heide Collection, the definitive publication on the museum’s collection featuring works by 100 artists with contributions from leading experts including staff past and present.
